3/11 Announcements

  • C School Hero voting is going on now - only a few more days left!  Ms. Regan has been nominated...if you vote for Ms. Regan, you give her and the school a chance to win $10,000.  https://www.ncschoolheroes.com/
  • If you would like to bring a guest to prom, you need to fill out a Guest Request form by April 1.  See Mrs. Testa or Mrs. Sanders for a form.  Remember, guests cannot be older than 20 years old.
  • Attention Spellers!  If you are interested in participating in LEC’s Spelling Bee, the deadline to sign up is March 16 at noon for the spelling bee on March 18 from 3-4.  The winners will be able to go county-wide competition on Monday, March 23. When you sign up, you need to sign up as a team of four. See Mr. Testa for more info.
  • Beta Club is planning an Activity Night on March 27 and need your help deciding what movie to play.  Please complete this google form to help out Beta Club.
  • There will be a PTSO meeting on Monday, March 16 from 6-7 in Cobra Hall.
  • There will be a McTeacher Night on Thursday, March 19 from 5-8 at the McDonald’s on Spring Lane.  Come out and help support your school!
  • Attention chess players!  The first Lee County Scholastic Chess Tournament will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 8:30 - 5 at SanLee Middle School.  If you are interested in playing and representing LEC, see Ms. Willaert for a permission slip and more details.

Updating Resumes

Yesterday you were to brainstorm the following:

What skills have you developed?
What are your strengths?
What personal qualities make you standout?
What skills would you prefer to develop?

Today you are going to update your resumes (or begin creating them) with this new information.
You should update activities with short descriptions, add details to honors and accomplishments, include new summer programs or jobs, and new skills.  


Based on these examples, your resume should include the following:

References

Announcements 3/4

  • The Talent Show will be on Thursday, March 5th in the Civic Center at 6 pm. Students can purchase tickets from Mrs. Sanders.  Tickets are $3 if bought early and $5 at the door.

  • Rotary Club meets every other Thursday from 3-3:30 in Ms. Smith’s room (20).  The next meeting will be March 12.
  • Chess Club meets every Wednesday after school until 3:45 in Ms. Willaert’s room (16).

  • Are you interested in going on the trip to Japan for summer 2021?  There will be another interest meeting on Tuesday, March 3 from 5-6 in Cobra Hall.  Families/students that are already signed up for the trip do not need to attend. Only students and parents that are interested and seeking more information about the trip should be there.

Announcements 2/6

  • Candy Grams are on sale!  Candy Grams for Valentine’s Day range in price from $4 to $7 with the Mega Gram allowing you to get out of advisory on Valentine’s Day!  See your advisory teacher for an order form or see Mrs. Testa or Mrs. Sanders for more details.
  • Candy grams are on sale until Feb. 12th! A Regular Candy Gram is $4 and the receiver will get a card with a message, candy, and a gift. A Super Candy Gram is $5 and receives the same as the regular candy gram + the message will be read to the entire school on announcements. The Mega Candy Gram is $7 and you get all of the previous stuff, plus you and your guest will get out of advisory on Feb. 14th (to watch shows, play games, and eat popcorn). If you want to buy a candy gram or you have any questions, please see Mrs. Testa or Mrs. Sanders.
